The Sharry Everett Scholarship Fund was founded by Northside residents Romona Winston, Marirose Radelet and Roy Redman to honor the legacy of Sharry Everett. The Scholarship Fund is dedicated to assisting Northside youth to pursue their higher education goals. To date, 183 scholarships have been given 85 students, several of whom have received the scholarship throughout four years of college.

The SESF administers the Mexican War Streets Society Award, the Harriet Henson Award, the Toni Jones Book Award, the Radelet Family Award and the Carolyn Efferson McDuffie Nursing Scholarship.

SESF scholars are children of the Northside neighborhoods. To become scholars, they must exemplify the "can do" attitude that Sharry had in abundance. It is our hope that they will share her interest in returning to improve the Northside or make their way in the world as proud representatives of their Northside communities.
